Sustainable Infrastructure and Design

Sustainability has been a focus in the practice of architecture for years, even decades, but the topic is often overlooked when it comes to civil infrastructure. MSA is committed to creating long-lasting infrastructure projects that result in the least amount of impact to our environment as possible.

As a demonstration of that commitment, we maintain active memberships in a number of “green”-minded organizations, including the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI), which is a nonprofit organization structured to develop and maintain a sustainability rating system for civil infrastructure. More information pertaining to this organization can be found on ISI’s website: https://sustainableinfrastructure.org/

MSA strives to comply with the guidelines set forth by ISI’s rating structure, Envision, whenever possible. This rating system is new to our industry, and we look forward to achieving official certification on our future civil engineering design projects.

Sustainability is a choice. Check out this video featuring communities we’ve partnered with to create sustainable projects.

MSA has two Envision Sustainability Professionals. Contact Kevin Lord, PE, PLS, ENV SP or  Dan Borchardt, PE, ENV SP to incorporate Envision Sustainablity practices into your next project.
