Residents of Appleton will enjoy a transformed aquatic and overall park amenities.
The City of Appleton is working with MSA to transform the popular Erb Park and Swimming Pool. The $10.5 million project will provide new aquatics and overall park amenities, including a 50-meter competitive pool, recreation pool, and water slide.
Additionally, plans call for the construction of a new pavilion, bath house and pool equipment building, new playground equipment with poured in place surface, connecting paths, grilling stations, additional parking, relocation of the sledding hill and ice skating rinks within the park, reconstruction of the basketball court, and addition of two new youth tennis courts. Demolition of the current pool facilities will begin in 2016 with an expected reopening in the summer of 2017.
Sarah McDonald, PLA, a landscape architect/urban planner with MSA, said, “We recognize that this is not a park improvement plan, but a legacy plan. This is something we want to shape for generations to come.”
