MSA worked with the City to complete this project, which included three distinct components.

This project involved all facets of developing a GIS system capable of supporting City asset management needs. This involved three distinct components:
  1. Conducting a GPS inventory of City infrastructure
  2. Mapping that GPS data
  3. Developing a GIS database to house that data on City parcels and utilities

MSA completed the comprehensive GPS inventory of sewer, stormwater and water infrastructure, followed by an in-depth mapping effort to accurately map and attribute the City’s pipe systems. Our team collected this data using Trimble GPS systems and converted it to Esri’s ArcGIS format using database schemas from Esri’s asset templates.

After completing the mapping effort, MSA developed a parcel- and utility-mapping web application, using Esri’s new, Javascript-based, web application builder, customizing it further to support the City’s GIS needs. This application include customized code, which allows the application to use Google Street View tools within the GIS application. This provides City staff with site information while within the GIS toolset.
