Shawn serves as client service manager and market lead for state and federal clients in the state of Iowa. He enjoys the challenges of new client opportunities and is deeply committed to seeing that the expectations of all Iowa clients — large and small — are met. In addition, Shawn provides clients with grant writing, comprehensive planning, public engagement, community design, GIS analysis and mapping—as well as land use planning services.
Shawn’s Airplane Single Engine Land (ASEL) and Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) certifications have served as an asset to several of our partners as well. For instance, as the remote pilot for a community branding project in Asbury, Iowa, Shawn recorded aerial video of new improvements within the city, and the video was displayed proudly on the city’s website and social media accounts.
As a certified planner, Shawn has led many Iowa downtown revitalization projects — facilitating community visioning sessions, creating downtown plans, performing research and providing scenario modeling and urban design. These revitalization efforts have led not only to business growth but also to the restoration of community pride in the downtown area.
Shawn earned a master’s degree in community and regional planning from Iowa State and is certified through the American Institute of Certified Planners.
