The Iowa Chapter of ACEC awarded its 2018 Engineering Achievement Award to the City of Johnston for Phase I & II NW Beaver Drive.

The drive from Merle Hay Road to N.C.L is a crucial corridor, connecting the City of Johnston and similar communities to the Des Moines Metro, which experiences traffic volume of nearly 6,000 cars per day. Public Works Director Matt Greiner said that this project helped them find “direction at a critical time” and the drive “has now been reestablished as a crucial corridor for the Des Moines metro area due to the rehabilitation project.”
