MSA announced today the hiring of John Trickel, PE, who will serve as a principal mechanical engineer in the firm’s Ankeny office location.
John joins MSA with over 25 years of experience in designing HVAC and plumbing systems with an emphasis on energy efficiency modeling, plumbing and piping design for a variety of clients, including those in the agricultural, housing, commercial, military, industrial and governmental industries. Throughout his career, Mr. Trickel has provided leadership and engineering design guidance to designers, interns, graduates, and licensed Professional Engineers as well as other design disciplines. Prior joining MSA, he served as a mechanical engineering group leader for a multidisciplinary architecture and engineering firm in Des Moines as well as founder and CEO of VGI Design, an engineering company specializing in HVAC, plumbing and electrical (MEP) design services for public and private sector clients in Iowa.
John earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Iowa State University with an emphasis on fluid mechanics, HVAC design and electrical power. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and Wisconsin as well as a Certified Plumbing Designer. John is also an active member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
