Nate Beil, PE, D. WRE, is an outside member of our board of directors, bringing nearly four decades of executive management and leadership experience to MSA. Nate recently retired from KCI after a 37-year tenure where he served as chief executive officer since 2018 and chairman of the board of directors since 2021. KCI is a 100% employee-owned firm of approximately 2,500 professionals supporting mobility, land development, preservation, and infrastructure projects across the United States.
Nate started the water resources division at KCI, one of the firm’s top-performing business units, and led the company’s environmental group from 1995-2001, adding three new service lines including public utilities, subsurface utility engineering, and geographic information systems. During his tenure as president (2006-2018), Nate led the company to be named Engineering News Record’s (ENR) Mid-Atlantic Design Firm of the Year and the Baltimore Sun’s Top Workplace Among Large Firms in 2017.
Nate holds both master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Lehigh University and is a graduate of the Executive Program at the University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate School of Business Administration as well as the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Senior Executive Institute. He has long been active in a variety of professional organizations, serving on executive committees, boards of directors, and as a member of various engineering industry associations.
