MSA Professional Services, Inc. (MSA) announces the addition of the staff of the former Ourston Roundabout Engineering (Ourston), which allows MSA to offer clients increased experience and knowledge of traffic engineering services specifically focused on roundabouts.

The Ourston roundabout planning and design team has contributed to the industry since its inception in 1994. Ourston was sold to an international engineering firm in 2013, but changes in that organization’s focus led the former Ourston group to seek, with the blessing of their employer, a situation that was in better alignment with the mission and offering of the staff. 

As the largest, most experienced team of roundabout engineers worldwide, the team of 12 will continue to provide the Ourston approach to intersection analysis and roundabout design under the MSA banner.

The Ourston team, led by Mark Lenters, PE, provides a planning, design and oversight of intersection design services, including:

• Analysis, planning and review
• Direct design
• Design oversight
• Micro-simulation
• Research and public outreach

The Ourston brand is now offered through MSA from the Madison, Wis. office, and from locations in Atlanta and Dallas, which will expand MSA’s four-state footprint. Ourston has done work in more than 40 U.S. states and seven Canadian Provinces.
