MSA is pleased to announce the promotion of two accomplished individuals to the position of vice president and program manager within the firm’s Transportation discipline.
Kevin Ruhland and Mark Lenters have been selected to lead the Tranportation program, with Ruhland assuming the Midwest regional position, and Lenters covering other regions of the country, specifically Texas and the Southeast. Both individuals commence their new roles effective January 1, 2019, as MSA continues to grow and expand its multi-state transportation initiative.
Kevin joined MSA in 2000, most recently serving as the Traffic practice leader in the firm’s Madison, Wis., office where he oversees a wide range of traffic and transportation design and engineering services. His expertise includes intersection control evaluation and design, corridor studies, traffic impact analysis and multimodal accommodation. A licensed professional engineer (PE) in the states of Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin, Kevin is also a WisDOT Qualified Level I Roundabout Designer. He is an alumnus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
Mark joined MSA as a former principal of Ourston Roundabout Engineering, which MSA added to its team in 2016. He has since served as the Roundabout practice leader from the firm’s office in Atlanta and specializes in intersection and roundabout design and safety review, with experience covering all aspects of policy, planning, design, public outreach and research. Mark served on the review panel for the 2010 Federal Highway Administration’s Roundabout Guide, is vice chair of the Institute of Transportation (ITE) Roundabouts Committee and a licensed professional engineer in Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Texas, Vermont, Wisconsin and Ontario.
“I am excited to welcome both Kevin and Mark to their new roles,” commented Mike Statz, chief operations officer and chairman of the board of directors at MSA. “As our Transportation program continues to expand and strengthen, these two individuals are positioned well to guide it forward. Kevin and Mark are trusted authorities in their fields, and I look forward to working with them in these expanded new capacities.”
