MSA is pleased to announce the appointment of a new trustee to the firm’s Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP). Regional Vice President, Illinois Municipal Program Manager and Professional Engineer (PE) Nick Wagner has been selected to fill the role.
A trustee plays an integral role in ESOP governance, serving as a legal shareholder for the ESOP Trust, with primary fiduciary duties as defined by the Employee Retirement Income Secuity Act (ERISA). MSA voted to become 100% employee-owned in July of 2017, and was named 2018 Company of the Year by the Wisconsin Chapter of the ESOP Association.
“I am excited to welcome Nick to the important role of ESOP trustee,” commented John Langhans, MSA team leader, ESOP Communication Committee chair and fellow trustee. “He leads by example, is a passionate proponent of employee ownership and an exemplary community liaison for the firm.”
Wagner has been with MSA since 2004 and serves as project manager at the firm’s Quad Cities office in Bettendorf, Iowa. He earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin, as well as a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
