MSA announced today its ranking on the Engineering News Record’s (ENR) 2019 Top 500 Design Firm list. The firm has secured a position on the ENR list 21 times – this year with a seat at No. 337.
According to the ENR, 2018 saw robust growth in the design firm market, with the top 500 firms recording a combined revenue of $101.16 billion, up 7.7% from 2017. These rankings reflect the individual totals of revenue billed in 2018, analyzing both publicly and privately held architecture and engineering (AE) design companies within the U.S. They are recognized as an indication of AE market trends and activities, with an eye toward future growth, sustainability and industry leadership.
“Maintaining a strong rank on the Top 500 list points to the dedication of our nearly 350 employee-owners and the work that they do,” commented Gil Hantzsch, CEO at MSA. “The ENR report discusses an increased need to value and support the human element for the long-term success and vitality of a company. We believe our 100% employee ownership structure and emphasis on a collaborative, purpose-driven culture has served us well historically and will continue to boost our momentum moving forward.”
The Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) model has been garnering increased attention, with MSA mentioned in a Forbes article about how ESOPs continue to grow and thrive through evolving eras of leadership. The firm commits to continuing to build upon this foundation and supports the personal and professional development of its team members. It recently launched the inaugural MSA Leadership Series course and is proud to support and strengthen communities from each of its 16 offices.
