MSA announced today that employee owner Sarah Runkel recently earned American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification, highlighting her commitment to the institute’s high standards of practice, ethics and professional conduct.
Sarah joined MSA in 2021 as part of the company’s Planning + Design Studio and serves as an associate planner for communities across the state of Iowa. She earned a master’s degree in Community and Regional Planning as well as a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from Iowa State University and lends her expertise to helping communities of all sizes with comprehensive planning, transportation and corridor planning, community development, land use and zoning review, ADA compliance, public engagement and grant writing. Based in MSA’s Des Moines office location, Sarah is an active member of the American Planning Association Iowa Chapter and an Iowa Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Certified Grant Administrator.
