MSA is proud to recognize the accomplishments of Structural Engineer Marion Banko, PE, who recently earned Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in the state of Wisconsin.
To earn a PE license, engineers must hold a four-year degree in engineering from an accredited engineering program, work under a professional engineer for at least four years, pass two intensive competency exams and earn a license from the state licensure board. PE licensure is the engineering profession’s highest standard of competence – a symbol of achievement, assurance of quality and commitment to ethical standards of practice.
Marion joined MSA in 2019 and is based in MSA’s Champaign, Illinois, location where she serves as a structural engineer on the firm’s Buildings service line. She has over nine years professional engineering experience and specializes in concrete tank design, as well as steel, wood, and polymer composites analysis and design. Marion holds both a master’s degree and bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior to joining MSA, she served as a research engineer with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), the foundational research and development center for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
“I’m proud to congratulate Marion on attaining PE licensure,” commented Mike Statz, chief operating officer at MSA. “This is a cornerstone professional milestone and great achievement. I look forward to her continued contributions to our clients and to structural projects we deliver to communities across the country.”
