MSA Professional Services (MSA) announces that Abby Kraemer-Mouw, Engineer, earned her Grade 2 Water Treatment Operator and Grade 2 Water Distribution Operator certification for the state of Iowa.

With this certification, Mouw can aid Iowa clients who have an interim need for a Grade 2 certified Water Treatment and/or Distribution Operator.  This also offers a qualified contact for clients or operators who have questions or queries regarding their water treatment or distribution system.

Certified Water Operators are a crucial part of providing an adequate and safe water supply and work in the fields of water, wastewater, distribution and more. Issued by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, one must pass a certification exam and the result proves sufficient knowledge and experience to properly operate the system and in turn protect human and environmental health.

Kraemer-Mouw earned her B.S. degree in civil engineering from Iowa State University. She joined MSA in 2014, and her experience includes sanitary sewer collection system design, water system distribution and storage design, construction administration and observation, and inflow and infiltration investigation, reporting and remediation.

“This is a great opportunity to better serve clients and understand the problems they are facing,” says Mouw. “This license means I can provide and explain, with accreditation, the solutions clients are looking for.”
