MSA is proud to announce that Raine Gardner, senior project engineer for the firm, has been awarded with a Young Professional of the Year Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).
The award recognizes the accomplishments of young Professional Engineers (PEs) who have made significant contributions to the industry and to the greater society. Gardner was recommended by the ACEC Wisconsin chapter and is the first from the state to be recognized. Five award recipients were selected from a national pool of candidates and were honored at the ACEC Fall Conference in Las Vegas, Nev., in October, 2018.
“Receiving this award is a tremendous achievement,” commented Gil Hantzsch, CEO of MSA. “Raine’s expertise and leadership, specifically in the Parks and Recreation practice, has led to a number of widely-recognized and award-winning projects. She is an upstanding community liaison and exemplary role model for aspiring engineers. We congratulate her and are fortunate to have her on the MSA team.”
Raine joined MSA in 2007 and serves as the firm’s Parks and Recreation practice leader. With a background in municipal and transportation engineering, Gardner aids governments and municipalities plan, design and construct sustainable, thoughtful infrastructure systems. She is passionate about incorporating accessability and ADA compliance into park, recreation and open space design and is actively involved in her community, encouraging young women to consider careers in the engineering field.
Raine holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Michigan Technological University and a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a licensed Professional Engineer in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan and Iowa—as well as a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Wisconsin Parks and Recreation Association and National Recreation and Parks Association. In 2017, she was also named to the MSA Board of Directors.
“I am very appreciative of this honor,” commented Gardner. “I am also honored to be recognized with this group of young professionals that have achieved so much in their early careers. It is great to see how passionate others are within the engineering profession and the impacts they are making across the world. It excites and encourages me to continue my work in making improvements to better the lives of all.”
MSA congratulates Raine on her award and extends our deepest thanks for all she continues to contribute to our company and to our greater community!
