The Wisconsin Asphalt Pavement Association (WAPA) awarded its 2018 Innovation Award in the Business category to Kieler Farms and MSA Professional Services, Inc. (MSA).
The Wisconsin Asphalt Innovation Awards recognize technological advancements and innovations in asphalt pavements for three categories: State (WisDOT Region or Office), Local (City, County, Town, or Village) and Business (Commercial or Private Business).
The Kieler Farms project involved the construction of a 1,000-foot by 250-foot feed storage pad utilizing performance-designed asphalt to reduce cost and maintain a high-quality surface, with the intention to be watertight. “Much effort and time was put into specifying asphalt for this project. MSA was just one part of the solution. The joint expertise of the Kieler family, Mathy Construction, Iverson Construction, and WAPA made the development of this solution possible,” said Skwor.
MSA has been working with the Kieler family for 15 years to support their multi-generational family farm operation, which specializes in dairy, beef and crops. The Kielers have been farming in the Platteville area since 1947. “We’re proud of the Kielers for their willingness to select asphalt and for being recognized by WAPA,” said Skwor.
“This award is a testament to our long-standing commitment to the success of Kieler Farms and the dedication of Andy and his team to provide enduring, innovative solutions to our clients’ agricultural challenges,” said MSA President/CEO Gil Hantzsch.
